Message from the CEO

On behalf of the Perenchio Foundation, I would like to extend a warm welcome and invite you to learn more about our work. The Foundation brings together two things our founder—A. Jerrold “Jerry” Perenchio—loved dearly: Los Angeles and the arts. He understood that artists are the storytellers of our times and enrich our way of life. I share these passions and beliefs as well.

The Perenchio Foundation believes in the essential role that the arts play in building equitable, culturally vibrant, and inclusive communities. The opportunity to positively impact those that are historically underfunded and underserved is particularly meaningful to me. As a Mexican immigrant raised in Los Angeles, I am proud to be a part of the diverse communities the Foundation is committed to supporting.

I would like to thank the arts leaders with whom I have met, who represent organizations of various sizes and disciplines throughout Los Angeles County. Your insights have been invaluable in helping us understand your needs and challenges on a deeper level. These conversations have made it clear that strengthening organizational capacity is a key factor in arts leaders’ ability to fulfill their vision. We know the events of the last two years have had an immense impact on artists and the arts sector, so taking this community-centered approach was vital to charting our course as a foundation.

Guided by our values and mission, as well as my experiences empowering and investing in communities, the Perenchio Foundation is dedicated to supporting visual and performing arts organizations through a grantmaking structure that seeks to create positive and lasting impact.

We are pleased to share our funding opportunities to meet the distinct and varied needs of Los Angeles arts organizations. We invite you to explore the website to learn more about us and our funding priorities.

We look forward to getting to know you better.

Warm regards,
Stephania Ramirez
